Locum Psychiatrist - Consultant Liaison

We are seeking a Psychiatrist to provide locum services as a Consultation Liaison in the Mental Health Short Stay Unit & Emergency Medicine.  

The Consultant will be required to supervise the Registrars in training and be an Accredited College Supervisor.

Hours are 0830 - 1700 five days per week plus participation in the on-call roster.

17th July to 31st December 2021

Rate

$2000 per day/$2500 per day when on-call plus $250 p/hour call back and travel, accommodation and car hire

Hospital and location

Tasmania’s largest hospital and the major referral centre providing acute, sub acute, mental health and aged care inpatient and ambulatory services to a population of approximately 240,000 people, operating up to 550 physical beds, including 460 acute overnight and 90 day beds. A comprehensive range of general and specialty medical and surgical services are provided including cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, extensive burns treatment, hyperbaric medicine, neonatal & paediatric intensive care and high risk obstetrics.The hospital provides a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week Emergency Department, and critical care comprises a nine-bed Intensive Care Unit (including cardiothoracic intensive care), and five-bed High Dependency Unit. The ED has 41 treatment spaces, an assessment and planning unit and a short stay observation unit.
